WORK WITH THE HARVEST

Playing off the fall harvest is a common piece of advice, both for the home interior and the front outside area of your home.

Autumn decorations echo holidays such as Halloween and Thanksgiving and take earthy cues from the harvest theme. Items such as corn husks, Indian corn, gourds, straw, dried corn stalks and colorful leaves are often showcased.

"I don't think it needs to be scary and nasty if you don't want to take it in that direction", says Keri Polczer, Edmonton divisional manager for Wen Di. She's one of several interior designers and decorators surveyed by The Journal At Home for tips on creating a tasteful, not tacky Halloween.

Scheduling your Halloween Decorations

Early consultations are encouraged (August 1st – September 31st). Installations begin in mid September. We recommend scheduling installations between September 15th and October 15th, we are equipped to handle last minute installations up to October 29th. The removal of your Halloween decorations will occur between November 1st and November 15th . You may specify a specific date to have your decorations removed at the time of the initial consultation.
